How 'Hard Noize' became a classic show stopper

Artist - Dillinja
Track - Hard Noize
Released - April 1998
Label - Test Recordings
With its 45 second intro sampled from a 1960 episode of televisions 'The Twilight Zone' followed up with unrelenting waves of distorted heavy bass, hard chopped Amen edits and spooky atmospheric vibes, the track 'Hard Noize' has become a classic show stopper.

Released by influential UK DJ and Producer Dillinja on the 6th April 1998, 'Hard Noize' became one of a select number of tracks that were majorly influential in the growth of the Jungle/D&B movement in the early 1990's. Behind such a monumental track, Dillinja has become arguably the most prolific producer within the Drum & Bass scene with over 500 releases produced since 1991.

On release, the record had a distinctive design with a striking yellow and black colour scheme but interestingly when the two featured tracks (Hard Noize and Fluid) were listed the wrong way around - Hard Noize was featured on the record's flip side rather than its intended A side. Some mix tracklists then went on to repeat this error, furthering the confusion.

This classic track is instantly recognisable when you hear it played out and it has become a staple in most DJs USB’s and record bags. Now, nearly 25 years after it was originally released (and who knows after how many bootlegs), it's a track that needs little introduction. It still sounds so fresh and is guaranteed to send dance floors into a frenzy whenever it drops. That intro is just so unforgettable and when the drop kicks in, it guarantees chaos every time!
